Just to add, there appears to be a trend of newbies lately since the latest changes in "new light", I think this is a good sign.

I take it you've avoided watching any nature documentaries these last 40 years then? Attenborough is always mentioning proboscis this and proboscis that...

First Post - Introduction
by Syme inthis is my first post on jwn, and i would like to take a few lines to introduce myself.. i currently am still in the organization, though my conviction in the last 1-2 years is more or less agnostic/atheist (closer to atheist).
i am an ex-elder and mts graduate, having served in another 3 congregations, apart from my home one.. the reason for the above-mentioned conviction shift has to do with science and rational, logical thinking generally, and with the grand theory of evolution, specifically.
it took me long, endless sessions of hard reading and study of serious scientific literature (plus cross-matching all the quotes and claims in jw evolution-related literature), to finally make the shift from utterly firm religious belief to doubt, and then to lack of religious faith.

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses keep track of field service hours?
by Faithful Witness ini understand that they claim to have the responsibility to preach to every corner of the earth, so they can encourage armageddon to come quickly.
(matthew 24:14 "and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
what rationale do they have, for keeping track of their hours and literature placements?

STFU if a whole congregation did 0 field ministry but still did everything else required, what would happen to that congregation?
The CO would would be ordered to investigate and then disband the congregtion, the elders and MS would be deleted and the pioneers would have their title removed.
Why do all those things hinge on putting hours in in field circus?

When did Jesus start ruling as king?
by DS211 incindy: o.k.
cindy, now read the next two verses 25 and 26.. cindy: for he must rule as king until [god] has put all enemies under his feet.
cindy: i never saw that before!.

If they can come up with overlapping generations, they can come up with overlapping kingships, phase 1, phase 2 etc.
Confirmation bias is a strong deterrent to reason...

When he says it's for organisational reasons (targeting / effectiveness etc etc) then ask him why the publishers have individual cards with their names on.
Watch him squirm.

Purely business. In their mind it is a guage of effectiveness and for targetting resources.
But we all know it is really dual use for control and guilt as well. Why else would our report cards have our name on them.

Can it be delayed until 1914?
by Doug Mason inunder the heading of "can it be delayed until 1914?
" in zion's watch tower of july 15, 1894, russell advised his readers that the trouble they were experiencing was taking place exactly as he had anticipated 17 years earlier.. russell's readers were concerned that, given the troubles they were experiencing, matters could not hold out until 1914.. he comforted them with the information that 1914 was not the date for the beginning of the time of trouble, but for its end.. the full text and a scan of that page from the watch tower is available at:.

Silly Bible Students, if they had really been students of the bible instead of unwitting founders of just another cult they would have quickly deduced the bible for what it really is, a work of fiction.

Dont you have a stand in WT conductor? You can choose to be ill, away, dealing with a family matter etc etc and just avoid having to stand there like a prune mouthing words you know are false. It will destroy you mentally and emotionally faking it unless you are some sort of sociopath.
